What makes a great wedding video, and the woman behind ours.

Photograph by Riseborough and Harwood
So I’m finally getting around to writing about our wedding.. What we loved… what we’d do differently…. but I’m starting with the good stuff, our Videographer! Holly Cassidy!!

We had already booked our videographer about 6 months in advance, but about 3 weeks before our wedding we got a mail to say he could no longer do the job because of getting some high profile work. We were a bit frazzled on how we were going to find someone on such short notice! A few days later Holly kindly messaged me on Instagram asking if I would like to attend a wedding show she was in. She didn’t know me she just found me on instagram and saw I was a bride to be, it was such a nice gesture.

We are blessed that it happened that way, we have been left with such carefully curated memories of our special day that will be there for our children to see.

Holly has such a great ability to make people feel at ease. The morning or the wedding she was so chatty and lovely it made everyone around her so comfortable whilst remaining inconspicuous and letting the day naturally unfold around her. She gets the most beautiful shots when people are unaware of her presence. She says she often gets the best footage from children; their wonderful lack of self-awareness provides the most natural and warming shots.
She equipped my bridesmaids with a go pro so they could take candid extra footage.(such a nice touch)

She Started with us girls getting ready the morning of the wedding, When she had enough footage of the girls she headed over to the boys to get some time with them.
Everyone is so happy and relaxed in the footage. It’s just lovely to see.
She captured every guest and all of our key moments so perfectly. She also worked so well with the photographer. I cannot recommend this talented lady strongly enough. Her very current style of videography is refreshing. She has a great creative flair and the warmest manner which in my opinion is the perfect mixture for a wedding day.
